 One of the ways to tell how popular or important a person was is to count the
number of stamps that have been issued in their honor. Bob Marley has had numerous stamps issued around the world with
his face and name on them. Many of these stamps are issued from small countries in Eastern Europe and Africa. Jamaica has
issued 2 sets of Marley stamps the latest being in 1995.
This is the first set of stamps that was issued for Brother Bob. Issued in 1981 in JA shortly after his passing.        In 1995 Jamaica issued their second series of
stamps in honor of Brother Bob for his 50th birthday.
   Bukina Faso is a country in West Africa located south of Mali and north of Niger. It has a population of 13 million.  Chad is located in Central Africa south of Libya and west of Sudan. It has a pop of 11 million  Montserrat is a British Island in the Leeward Islands which are part of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. The island has a pop of 4,500          Mongolia is located in east and Central Asia south of Russia. It has a pop of 3 million   Turkmenistan is a Turkic country located in central Asia. It used to be a Russian Republic. It borders Afghanistan, Iran and several other countries. Pop is 5.1 million           Dagestan is a Republic of Russia located in the North Caucasus Region. It has a pop of 2.6 million           Touva is a autonomous republic country located within the Russian Federation. From 1994-1995 they issued many different stamps including the Marley one.  Mordovia is a Federal Subject of Russia. It is located on the Eastern European Plain of the Russian Federation. Pop is 900,000           Tartarstan is a Federal Subject of Russia located on the Eastern European Plain about 500 miles east of Moscow. Pop is 3.8 million  Congo is located in Central Africa. It is bordered by Gabon and Cameron. It is a former French colony with a pop of 4 million    Grenada is a island located in the South Eastern Caribbean Sea, Northwest of Trinidad. It has a pop of 110,000  Tanzania is located in East Africa south of Kenya and north of Rwanda. It has a pop of 40 million  Niger is located in West Africa. It borders Nigeria and Burkina Faso and has a pop of 13.3 million.  This stamp is from Roger Steffens great book 'The World of Reggae'.
